” We are driven to use technology to advance new solutions. To find a better way of doing things.”
Tjitze MeterProud of our beginnings, but always looking forwards
HatchTech Group was founded in 1996 in the Netherlands. Our first innovation, the HatchTech incubator, changed the food industry.
Since this initial landmark, HatchTech Group has grown to become a leading supplier of technology and sustainable solutions to customers around the world. We now employ more than 170 people across three international locations, and we distribute our products across 40 countries.
While our organisation has changed significantly since 1996, we are still driven by the same ambition felt by our founder: to use technology to advance new solutions. To find a better way of doing things. Whether in the food industry or elsewhere, we remain true to our original mission, drawing on our research and scientific capabilities to pioneer new innovations and ideas.
Problem solvers from day one
It used to be said that large-scale incubation and hatching processes were incompatible with high chick quality. We disagreed. We knew that, by mirroring the technological advancements taking place in other industries, we could change poultry production for the better. Our first challenge was to find solutions for some of the common problems associated with industrial hatching: the lack of adequate ventilation and feeding solutions, and poor hygiene leading to salmonella and other diseases.
New markets, new solutions
With the invention of our HatchCare hatching system, we were proved right: new technologies could offer a better way of doing things. Our innovative approach brought us to the attention of the leading hatcheries, both in the Netherlands and overseas. Strengthened by some outside investment, we were able to further expand business with new solutions; our chick transport system, HatchTraveller, for instance, and our brooding solution, HatchBrood. But why stop there? Our quest for new ideas and approaches has taken us to new industries and markets. With solutions such as vertical farming and in-egg gender identification, we are continuing to push the boundaries of what is possible and offer solutions to ‘unsolvable’ problems. We have accomplished a lot in the past two decades. We are excited to see what the next 22 years will bring!
